It’s almost time for my weekly USC game preview over at isportsweb. Can’t wait? Click above to get caught up on last week’s win over ASU.
USC head coach Lane Kiffin on senior running back Allen Bradford’s 212 yard, 2 touchdown performance in his last game as a Trojan.
Well, duh.
I’ve been saying this for awhile. Ok, he coughed it up a few times. But he was also having big games (220-something against Washington) and leading the team in yards per carry (he averaged 7.6 tonight vs. UCLA). Against Notre Dame last week? No carries. No excuse for that (ok, the excuse is ball control issues, and in light of what AB’s done when he’s had a chance, it’s a lame one).
Dude carried the team against UCLA - Congratulations to @AllenBradford21 on an awesome end to his USC career
I spent a lot of time this week queuing up blog posts in advance, but you just can’t prepare for something like Mitch Mustain getting arrested on felony charges for selling prescription narcotics.
Someone needs to get this boy a career counselor because he clearly has not found something he’s good at yet.
Football? Nice try, but no.
Drug dealing? Well, he got caught, so he clearly wasn’t very good at it.
Not gonna lie, I was pretty amused when I first saw the news, but in reality, it’s pretty sad. Dude went from being a top-ranked recruit, to an 8-0 starter at Arkansas, to a USC transfer, to a career backup. And now a felon. How does this even happen?
Also, my apologies to former USC backup quarterback Aaron Corp, who finished his college career at Richmond, for initially thinking it was him selling leftover painkillers even though the headlines clearly read “Mitch Mustain.”
Dennis Dodds, CBSSports.com (25 things for spring: Tricks, trees, training, Trotter and more)
Dodds is always a good read. I like him even better now!
Good news for USC fans!
My not-yet-finished preseason take on the Trojans’ defense will be a little more optimistic than I thought. Whew.
If you haven’t been following, updates on the offense are here.
It’s only September but it’s FREEZING in my house. Might need to break out the USC arm warmers for the game tonight!
(Photo from Christmas 2010, immediately after receiving the pictured arm warmers. Promise I’m not currently hanging out in a pink Santa hat. It might be chilly but it’s still too early for that!)
Where I will be on Saturday.
Whoooooo whoooooo!!!!!!!!!!!
If you’re reading this blog, you may or may not know that I’m a big fan of USC - didn’t attend, just a really big fan.
And this Saturday, I’ll be at the Coliseum for the USC-Arizona game!
CAN’T WAIT.
I’ll be posting as much as possible from the game, but you can also keep up on Twitter (@SportsStilettos) or on the Sports in Stilettos Facebook page.
I don’t really have any plans other than the game (seriously, what more do I need??) so if any of my L.A. readers have any suggestions, I’d love to hear them! Shoot me an email (sportsinstilettos@gmail.com) or leave it in the comment box below this post.
Oh, you know, chillin with my bff Tommy.
**USC has a bye this week so I figured it would be a good time to catch up on posting photos BUT for some reason, my browser crashes every time I try to upload more than one at a time from my LA trip. ALL my photos from the USC game are up on the Sports in Stilettos Facebook page - go “like” the page and check them out there!
If you missed it, my take on the game and my first experience at the Coliseum is here.
